Top Interior Designers

There are a few popular interior designers that you should know, particularly if you are interested in interior design or looking for one. They are Ron Dayan, Candice Olson, David Bromstad and Vern Yip.

Ron Dayan, the founder of Piccadilly Designs, has earned the nickname ‘The Interior Designer to the Rich and Famous’. Initially, he studied and explored famous buildings in Europe as a child. Even when he was young, he was very passionate with architecture and interior design. He graduated from the Polytechnic of Northern London which is a highly reputable university in London. To further his study, he moved to Los Angeles to enroll at the Woodbury University in 1979.

His work have pleased many celebrities in the United States such as Louis Gossett Jr, John Couch and Barry Gibb. His uncanny ability to read his client's mind and replicate the perfect settings have earned him the nickname 'the Sherlock Holmes of Interior Designers' by some of his clients. Such nickname is highly regarded by Ron Dayan as according to himself, he stated that he uses Holmes' methods of detection in his design process to determine and meet client's needs and expectations.

Candice Olson is the host of HGTV's Candice Tells All and a HGTV Design Star judge. In addition, she is exceptionally good interior designer in the United States and Canada. Candice Olson graduated from the School of Interior Design at Ryerson University in Toronto and received awards and media attention before she accepted spots on television. Also, she is a featured writer for a biweekly newspaper column which is extremely popular. Live with Regis and Kelly, the Oprah Winfrey Show and Today Show are some of her TV appearances.

Furthermore, she have launched her own products such as wallpaper, bedding, fabrics, lighting and furnitures. 'A fusion of traditional form, scale and proportions with the clean, crisp, simplistic beauty of modern design' is how she described her own signature style.

David Bromstad is the host of Color Splash and is one of the top interior designers. He enrolled into the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota. He has become known for his out-of-the-box thinking and endless energy. A range of custom art and furniture has been created by him.

He is unique because of his ability to combine vibrant colors with practicality. According to him, he ‘blends styles that incorporate realism and fantasy’. He also appears on the show HGTV where he surprise visit fans in his 18-wheeler with his vibrant and unique room designs.

Vern Yip is a HGTV Design Star judge, designer for the annual HGTV Urban Oasis home and the founder of Vern Yip Designs. He has received awards and national acclaim for being one of the top interior designers with the ability to transform restaurants and home both on television and on his own. These awards include the 2003 Distinguished Southerner Award from Southern Living magazine, 1999 Best New Restaurant for Fusebox restaurant in Atlanta, 2000 Southeast Designer of the Year, and 1999 Best New Night Club for DeuxPlex Bistro and Night Club in Atlanta.

He has also been featured in multiple publications, such as The New York Times, USA Today, and Entertainment Weekly.This over-achieving interior designer has also made appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Live With Regis and Kelly, The Early Show, CNN, and Today. He has a master's degree in architecture and science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Virginia. His unique style can be described as eclectic with influences from his trips to Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
